FIREWOOD IS WORTH A LOT OF MONEY
Only if it's split, stacked and seasoned. Otherwise, it's jut one more heavy byproduct of tree work that needs to be hauled, handled and disposed of.
Everything 10" or less is put through our chipper. No chips end up in landfills. We use the chips for mud and weed abatement and composting for soil enrichment. We use some wood ourselves and the rest is donated to Amish schools or individuals who need wood for winter heat. We don't sell firewood.
MY NEIGHBOR, FRIEND , RELATIVE WANTS THE FIREWOOD
We're more than happy to leave the firewood for you and if you have someone who wants it then it saves us the work and expense of hauling.
A WORD OF CAUTION
Lots of people say they want the wood but not all who say they want it actually follow through and remove it. A firewood length piece of hard maple trunk wood, 30" in diameter can weigh several hundred pounds so sometimes people will take the smaller pieces and leave the large trunk wood-for you. If you want us to leave the wood, please let us know before we start the job and we'll consolidate the firewood into a pile at the tree site.
SAW MILLS WILL PAY BIG $$$$$$$ FOR MY TREE
Almost all saw mills will refuse to take any tree from a yard or from the edge of a woodlot because most of them have nails, screws or other pieces of metal hardware, sometimes buried deep in the wood that will ruin expensive saw blades.
THE EMERALD ASH BORER IS A REAL THREAT TO OHIO'S ASH TREES
The Emerald Ash Borer has destroyed millions of ash trees in Michigan and will almost certainly do the same in Ohio. Please learn to identify your ash trees and watch for signs of decline or evidence of the ash borer.
